Today was great!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I woke up, I felt like staying in bed all day, but I couldn’t because I had a basketball game. It was about 11:42 when I got to the gym and I was still pretty drousy. We played at 12:00 and the team that we were playing looked like some black hulks on super steroids. I think that one of them was shaving with a rambo knife before the game. I already knew that this was going to be a tough win to pull out, but there’s a little saying that one of my childhood coaches told me and my teammates that I still use today “Once the task has begun; Never leave until it’s done; Be my labor big or small; Do it well or not at all! (and repeat “Do it well or not at all!” like 5 time). It motivates me when I need motivation, and it’s just a good speech.
So when the game started, the tempo of the game was pretty slow. No one was really scoring, just passing, then, all of a sudden, the coach for the other team yell, “Stop playin’ with these guys!” and they started scoring like crazy! I mean they were playing with us like I knew that my teammates were going to need a little more time to adapt to the change in game speed, because we were all tired. So I took matters into my own hands. One my teammates passed me the ball and I knew that I had to score. So I turned to the basket swiftly. The person guarding me tried to hit the ball out of my had, but he just slapped my wrist. I have a kung-fu grip so I kept grip with ease. Then I drove to the lane leaving my man in the dust. Immediately 3 other players for the other team came over to try to block my shot, but little did they know they were coming to guard Austin Sanders, one of the best. We all jumped at the same time. It seemed like everything was going in slow motion while I was in the air. I saw one of them about to block my shot, but I adjusted it just in time. And as soon as the ball left my hand, they all piled on me in mid-air and knocked me to the floor. On the way down I saw the ball rolling around the rim, then it went in. I felt so energizer when I saw that I had made the shot that when I hit the hard wooden floor, it didn’t even hurt……until about 3 trips up the court. I felt the adrienalin rushing through my vains. I felt so good! I was running all over the place! But when the adrenaline wore off, I had to go off the rest off the game. We lost, but it was okay, because I had fun getting And-1′s (getting fouled and still making the shot) and stuff.
After that I just chilled. I was kind of bummed that I had to go to school though. Then I saw something white fall from the sky. I was praying that it was going to blizzard so that we didn’t have to go to school or anywhere for that matter. As the snow fell, me, my cousins, T.J. and Tylan, and probably every other kid in Georgia watched the news channel in great suspense, hoping that our schools would cancel for tomorrow due to snow. As soon as I heard that Dekalb County (my school system) was out of school I jumped for joy! I was so overjoyed that I wrote this. I hope that the snow gets high do that I can have a snow ball war all day tomorrow.
