The Misadventures of George The Chair

<<<Previous StoryNext Story>>>

The story of George the Wayward Chair continues...

I slept in the back of the truck the night before we left for Atlanta.. Otis woke me up pretty early the next morning. He wanted to get an early start in order to miss most of the morning traffic. .

We left about an hour later because there wasn't a lot of things to pack. We missed most of the traffic but there is no way to miss all of it on southern California freeways.

We didn't do much stopping on the way. I wanted to get photos in all the different places along the way but Otis was a driving machine! We drove, and drove, and drove. It seemed like forever but it had only a half day. I did manage to get one photo of myself without someone sitting on me.

I was lucky because I was awake when Otis stopped to take a couple of photos for himself. We were on Route 66 when we stopped along the side of the road when he snapped this photo. It was the first time I had seen the mountains other than on TV.

It's a photo that I will always remember.

Since this is my first road trip, I'm finding it hard to stay awake. Driving, or rather riding, is very relaxing and soothing, so It's very difficulty staying awake. It may be because it's the first time in a long while that I've actually been able to sleep without having to worry. .

It's also the first time I've had a place to sleep. After we got back on the road, I could hear the music playing in the cab of the truck. I don't know what it was but it's putting me to sleep now................................... so..................................................................... once I wake up from my nap I will....................................................................................................
